Cheryl believes that  permanent makeup service is a combination of art and science -- that learning is a process, and that one's level of confidence can be measured and linked to the quality of training received. (c) 2000

It is a rewarding experience to provide your clients with the "lasting beauty and wonderful convenience of permanent cosmetics." (c 2000)

I teach professionals how to perform permanent cosmetic procedures using the SofTap (R) hand-method  because it is the easiest method to learn; it is safe and most preferred by clients I've talked to who have had both the machine and hand method performed for them.  The reason is that it is less uncomfortable, and the outcome is lovely. SofTap (R) is 100% disposable, too, which means cleanup is a snap, without spending time (time is money!) washing, scrubbing, soaking, drying, sterilizing in an autoclave, and buying additional needed supplies.  The machine method equipment, itself, cannot be sterilized, so there is more to be concerned about with machines.  If a backup tool is needed, the cost of a SofTap tool is a teensy fraction of the cost of any machine. Just pick out another pre-sterilized SofTap (R) hand-tool and you're immediately ready to go back to work again.

"Friendly, warm and inviting environment for instruction and learning.  Cheryl is very detail oriented.  Above all, Cheryl is very professional.  I would highly recommend this training for anyone wanting to get into the permanent makeup industry."
Jackie Catlett, R.N.

TRAINING NOTES FROM CHERYL

Each student must already be engaged in the medical or beauty professions. It is a highly structured class, proven to turn out  successful entry level permanent makeup professionals!

Basic Training is either a 100 hour class with 40 hours of home study prior to the start of 60 hours (6 days) in class ($4750) with live models or a 70 hour class with 30 hours of home study preceding a 40 hour class (4 days) with live models ($3100) .  Class fee includes everything needed for class plus a start up kit retailing at $500.   The kit is to use after class is completed. Everything for the in-class phase is provided by Lasting Impressions.  At least 10 live models will be seen by the trainee for permanent makeup applications in the 100 hour class and 6 live models will be seen in the 40 hour class.  Trainees provide their own transportation and room and board.  Please inquire for suggestions that may save you money with room and board if it is an issue for you.  Cheryl is your mentor for as long as you have questions after class is complete.

Advanced Training:  Experienced permanent makeup professionals may inquire about their choice of training, whether it be supervised practice with live models performing brows, liner, lips, and/or specialized training such as areola repigmentation, hairstroke eyebrows, or perhaps you are a machine user and would like to learn the SofTap hand method of applying permanent makeup.  The cost is $850 for the first day and $650 for each additional subsequent day of training. I can help you determine the number of days you will need to accomplish your goals.

Notes On Training: I get to the bottom-line details of basic principles associated with providing services, such as infection control, color theory, makeup design, client management,  marketing and business practices -- all in the home-study phase of the program. And then, in class, these principles are are discussed and reinforced at the beginning of the first day.  Practice work on practice material is reserved for the in-class phase and then live models are provided for real permanent makeup applications.   At home the home-study student-package consists of my 177 page student manual with study questions to be answered at the end of each section.  Students also receive my manuals, Fabulous! Hair-Strokes and The Melanin Factor .  Three DVDs that demonstrate each of eyebrows, eyeliner and lip color procedures as I perform them are also part of the student package along with a CD of business forms in Microsoft Word format that can be personalized at home on the students' computers.  In the main manual, students read, answer questions aimed at reinforcing the written material, and perform simple projects that develop the hand and the eye for color, design and facial morphology. The viewing of 3 DVDs introduces each student to the handling of  SofTap (R) tools as I am  observed performing eyebrows, eyeliner and lip color for  live models.  Students can expect  homework to be assigned during the in-class phase.  This is done on an individual basis and may consist of  drawing, color theory exercises,  and/or  SofTap (R) tool exercises.   The streamlined program is aimed at turning out students who are excellent entry-level permanent cosmetic specialists.  A SofTap (R) Certificate is awarded after satisfactory completion of class.  I am your mentor for as long as you have questions after your training period has ended.

Hi Cheryl,
Just a note to thank you so much for your wonderful class. Honestly, I never thought anyone would be able to teach me, or give me the confidence I would need to  succeed. (Your models were great!)  After class, the DVDs were like being there all over again. Your support, even after class has been so helpful.  Many people promise the world, but you delivered, you gave the stars!

Thanks so much!

"You have so much to offer, so much to give, and so much you deserve to receive in return.  Don't ever doubt that.  Know yourself and all of your fine qualities.  Rejoice in all your marvelous strengths of mind and body.  Be glad for the virtues that are yours, and pat yourself on the back for all your many admirable achievements.  Keep positive.  Concentrate on that which makes you happy, and build yourself up.  Stay nimble of heart, happy of thought, healthy of mind, and well in being. "  Janet A. "The test (AAM) was easy. I'm almost positive I passed.  RoseMarie commented to me that I did good work, thanks to you. I also met a woman there from Mass.( forgot her name) that trained at your place. She and I were the first to complete the test. I was out of there within three hrs. Thanks for everything YOUR THE BEST." Karen

Dear Cheryl,

Just wanted to let you know how pleased and comfortable I felt with my training I received from Lasting Impressions.

The way the course is set up to allow students to be able to read the manual and take skills tests at home at their own pace is a definite plus for someone like me.  Your communication and teaching skills are very good.  Having the ability to make sure we have concepts and the SofTap techniques down in class are one thing, but the patience it must take to oversee students who are practicing those new skills on live models is a real feat in itself!!  I was very glad you were so strict with our technique.

Thanks, Cheryl, for putting so much effort into making sure we walked away with confidence and ability.  Your "Doss Method" really works.

Best Regards,

Karen Loughrey
